Abstract
Brett Domino is a YouTube musician and internet celebrity from Leeds. The music videos, produced by the Brett Domino Trio, his band, received over 14 million clicks. In their very individual way they present cover versions, medleys and original songs played on various unusual, mostly electronic, musical instruments. The virtuosic way they use these instruments and their play with YouTube amateur aesthetics as well as with certain geek cliches, recontextualize the performed pop songs and make viewers look at them in a different light. Brett Domino is less about pop music but much more about (pop) music as performance.
